The Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program covers the basic requirements for servicing and the maintenance of machines and equipment in which the "unexpected" energization or startup could cause injury to employees. This OSHA LOTO course addresses practices and procedures necessary to de-energize machinery or equipment to prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy during maintenance activities.
Course participants will learn about applicable standards, elements of Energy Control Programs, hazardous energy sources in the workplace, control methods for applying LOTO, general LOTO steps, and who is authorized to perform LOTO.
